How to activate ID card certificates

Attention. All those citizens who received their ID cards starting February 15 2023 can obtain certificates of electronic signature and identification from mobile operators. For the list of operators please follow the link. |

ID card of RA citizen is used for

The card contains two certificates
- Digital signature certificate
- Identification certificate
IT IS NECESSARY
to activate both certificates on the ID card
For activation you need
- ID card and envelope containing PIN and PUK codes of the card
- Id card reader (how to get)
- CryptoCard Monitor (how to install)
Detailed description of actions
Step 1. Open the envelope and make sure the "Document number" matches your ID card number and the PIN and PUK codes are readable.
Step 2. Insert your ID card into the reader and wait until the Crypto Card Monitor sign 
activates, the circles should rotate yellow 
first, then red 
Step 3. Double-click the left button of the mouse 
on the icon in the lower-right corner of the screen
Step 4. Select the ARMID (AuthPIN) line that relates to your authentication certificate
Step 5. Press Activate button
Step 6. Enter the PUK code which is specified in the card envelope in the Initial PUK field
Step 7. Enter a new password (new PIN code) in the New PIN field. PIN must be at least 4 characters long.
Step 8. Re-enter your new PIN in the confirm field.
Step 9. Press ОК button.
Step 10. Press ОК button.
Step 11. Select the ARMID (SignPIN) line that relates to your digital signature certificate
Step 12. Press Activate button.
Step 13. Enter the PUK code which is specified in the card envelope in the Initial PUK field.
Step 14. Enter a new signature password (new PIN code) in the New PIN field. PIN must be at least 4 characters long.
Step 15. Re-enter your new PIN in the confirm field.
Step 16. Press ОК button.
Step 17. Press ОК button.
Final step. Remove the card from the card reader and reinsert it in the card reader. Wait for the certificate installation messages to appear.
